Check three games, not the catalogue size
Write down the three games you would play this week. For each one, note the edition, where you own it and whether you want to keep your existing save. Then check both services. Don't pay for a catalogue you'll barely use.
GeForce NOW's game list identifies supported titles and stores. Xbox's cloud page covers eligible subscription games and selected owned titles. Owning a game somewhere else doesn't automatically give you the right version for either service.
GeForce NOW: start here with an existing PC library
If your games and store versions are supported, GeForce NOW lets you make use of purchases you've already made. That's a useful starting point when the alternative means buying games again.
NVIDIA's direct Performance and Ultimate memberships currently include 100 monthly hours, with up to 15 unused hours carried forward. Check exceptions and regional partner terms in the membership FAQ. Four hours a day for 30 days is 120 hours. Work out how you'd handle that before buying a long plan.
Xbox Cloud Gaming: check the games included with your plan
Already paying for Game Pass? Check your account first. Compare the extra cost of getting cloud access on your existing plan with the full cost of a separate streaming subscription. PC Game Pass alone doesn't include cloud play.
Xbox has announced new limits for November 2026. Those are future changes as of this article's check date. Extra-hour pricing hasn't been announced, so a long subscription has a cost question you can't fully answer yet.

Try the setup you'll actually use
Use your usual device and controller at the time you normally play. Check small text, camera movement and the controls in a familiar game. We haven't tested which service responds faster on your connection.
If both pass the game check, compare the renewal bill, any games you still need to buy and the hours you'll use. A subscription you already own may change that calculation.
Read the GeForce NOW guide or Xbox Cloud Gaming guide for the individual restrictions. Our connection test checklist gives you a repeatable test.
Two common questions
- Can I use every PC Game Pass game on GeForce NOW?
- No. Check the supported game and store entitlement. Having a subscription does not make every title streamable through another service.
- Do I need an Xbox console for Xbox Cloud Gaming?
- No. You need a supported device and the right access for the game you want.
